Power Outage

As my good friend Yukon Cornelius says every year around Christmas, this weather isn't fit for man nor beast. And believe you me, I've taken that to heart the past few days.
Aside from freezing our stikis off this past week, we've shifted some servers around to better balance the increased load we've been seeing over the past little while. The good news is that you should notice a big speed improvement on your site immediately. The even better news is that we'll be continuing to rollout improvements over the next few weeks (we know it's needed!).
To all our friends who are stuck next to the chicken fingers in the deep freeze like we are, please, bundle up!
Scheduled Maintenance
December 5, 2006 by JonathanWe will be taking Stikipad offline this evening from 12:30 A.M. to 1:30 A.M. CST (-6) to migrate to our new clustered setup. As we've grown over the past few months, we've been preparing for this day to come and I'm proud to say that it has arrived. This will be a phased rollout, with the first phase consisting of additional hardware being added to the mix to help serve the load and provide failover support.
Along with the hardware updates, we will be moving away from Lighttpd and FastCGI to a Pound/Mongrel setup. Lighttpd has served our needs well since we launched, but unfortunately the stability of mod_proxy has bitten us once too many times.
Phase 2 will include moving all of our user attachments over to Amazon's brilliant S3 service. This will enable us to more easily add additional hardware at a later time, without the overhead of syncing assets between machines. More details to come before we make that move.
Scheduled Downtime
September 12, 2006 by MatthewWe have some optimization that we'll be doing to the StikiPad engine as of 11pm CDT tomorrow, September 13th. The system will be unaccessible for approximately 1 hour.

September 3, 2006 by MatthewWe've been having some severe problems keeping the system active over the past 24 hours which has resulted in disruptions across the majority of accounts.
We're here, we're as frustrated as you are, and we're working our butts off trying to get things up 100%.
Our apologies for this labour day mess.. we'll have a full recap when we can contain the problem.
Update (8am CDT): Things are finally steady again. Full report coming soon over at the forums.
Migrating..
